Where will my donation go?

One hundred percent of your gift will go directly to your chosen cause at Balliol – you can see the different causes you can make a gift to on our homepage. The support of Old Members and friends is more vital than ever to ensuring that we can continue to provide an excellent education and a supportive environment to all who come here. Can I see my gift on this website?

Yes, you can take a look at the donor wall to see your name and your message, provided you did not choose to remain anonymous. If you opted for your gift to be anonymous and have changed your mind, email us at development.office@balliol.ox.ac.uk and we will add your name to the donor wall.

Is there another way to donate to you other than online?

The quickest and easiest way to make a gift to Balliol is by using this website. If you’d prefer to make a gift over the phone, please call the Development Office on +44 (0)1865 277636 to speak to a member of our team. Cheques can be made payable to ‘Balliol College’ and sent to Development Office, Balliol College, Broad Street, Oxford OX1 3BJ. Please be sure to include a note to indicate which cause you would like to support. If you have any queries, please email development.office@balliol.ox.ac.uk

Can I make a gift from outside the UK?

Yes, you can use this website to support Balliol from all over the world. If you are a US taxpayer, you can follow the links from this website to make a tax-deductible donation via Americans for Oxford (AFO).

Is my payment secure?

Yes. All payments made through this platform will be securely processed by Stripe. Stripe holds the highest level of PCI-DSS certification. You can read Stripe’s privacy policy at www.stripe.com/gb/privacy

Why is my payment not going through?

Please check that you have included your post/ZIP code in both the address field and the card details field of the gift form. If there is still a problem you may have to contact your card provider and inform them that the payment is valid. For any queries please contact us at development.office@balliol.ox.ac.uk

Is Balliol a charity?

Yes, Balliol College is a registered charity in England and Wales (No. 1144032).

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid is a government programme that allows charities to claim back tax on donations. With Gift Aid, Balliol receives an additional 25 pence from the HM Revenue & Customs for every pound received through a donation. For example, through Gift Aid, your donation of £10 automatically becomes £12.50. To have your donation go further, tick the checkbox on the form to use Gift Aid. To qualify for Gift Aid, what you pay in income tax or capital gains tax must at least equal the amount we, and any other charities or CASCs (Community Amateur Sports Club) you donate to, will claim in the tax year.
